Delayed response analysis of dam monitoring data
Résumé
Long series of monitoring data are obtained during the routine operation of a dam. The Statistical Hydrostatic-Season-Time models which have been widely used for analysing and interpreting these large sets of data are not suitable for hydraulic measurement analysis, as they do not account for the delayed responses of piezometers or cells. This paper describes a model for performing delay analysis on pore pressure measurements. The method is based on Darcy's law and Richard's equation of seepage and involves the use of a linear dynamic system accounting for the contribution of non-ageing factors, i.e., the reservoir level and rainfall events, to the pore-pressure variations.
