Non linear dynamics of premixed flames in a Hele- Shaw burner
Résumé
Flames propagating in a Hele-Shaw burner are often quasi two-dimensional and can be used to study hydrodynamic instabilities in a simple configuration. A large burner contains a lot of linearly unstable modes and the flame propagates much faster than the laminar flame velocity. To study the non linear dynamics of these fronts, we show that it is possible to print perturbations on the flame at the top of the cell and compare the evolution to the Sivashinsky equation, with good agreement.
