Abstract : PRODUCING GOOD AND ADEQUATE CARE Good and adequate care within residential establishments for older dependent people (EHPAD) is the very aim of the organisation. Nevertheless, "production conditions" of such care cannot be taken for granted and need to be produced and reproduced day after day. According to the article, they depend on how the different ways of organising the work of health care staff within such residential establishments is taken into account, considered and "worked at" on a day-to- day basis. More particularly, they depend of whether the time constraints of an activity can be made more flexible. The article explores and demonstrates this approach which rests on sociological measures within an EHPAD, in the framework of a study examining the links between the organising of work and the health of people at work.
