In Çandır kommen zwei Proboscidier vor : Bei der einen handelt es sich um ein kleines Deinotherium, die andere kann nicht sicher identifiziert werden. Sie ist einem primitiven Choerolophodon nicht unähnlich ; wir ziehen es jedoch vor, sie in die Nähe des Ambelodonten Protanancus zu stellen.
There are two proboscideans at Çandır: one is a small Deinotherium, but the other cannot be definitely identified; it is not unlike a primitive Choerolophodon, but we prefer to consider it as close to the Amebelodont Protanancus.
