Résumé
Case-based reasoning (CBR) is an approach to problem solving and learning that has got a lot of attention over the last years. A new problem is solved by finding a similar past case, and reusing it in the new problem situation. A second important difference is that CBR also is an approach to incremental, sustained learning, since a new experience is retained each time a problem has been solved, making it immediately available for future problems. Argumentation is a reasoning approach based on the justification of claims by arguments. It is a unifying approach for solving various AI problems including reasoning with inconsistent, incomplete and uncertain information, decision making, and classification. The argumentative formulation of CBR naturally allows characterising the computation of an outcome as a dialogical process between a proponent and an opponent, and can be used to extract explanations for why an outcome for a new case is (not) computed.
Le raisonnement à partir de cas (Case-based reasoning ou CBR) est une approche de résolution de problèmes et d'apprentissage qui a suscité beaucoup d'attention au cours des dernières années. Un nouveau problème est résolu en trouvant un cas similaire dans le passé, et en le réutilisant dans la nouvelle situation problématique. Une deuxième différence importante est que le CBR est également une approche d'apprentissage incrémental et durable, car une nouvelle expérience est conservée à chaque fois qu'un problème a été résolu, la rendant immédiatement disponible pour les problèmes futurs. L'argumentation est une approche de raisonnement basée sur la justification des revendications par des arguments. C'est une approche unificatrice pour résoudre divers problèmes d'intelligence artificielle, y compris le raisonnement avec des informations incohérentes, incomplètes et incertaines, la prise de décision et la classification. La formulation argumentative du CBR permet naturellement de caractériser le calcul d'un résultat comme un processus dialogique entre un partisan et un opposant, et peut être utilisée pour extraire des explications sur la raison pour laquelle un résultat pour un nouveau cas est (ou n'est pas) calculé.
